Cavendish Group is hiring a Conference Sponsorship Sales Lead (part time) to drive sponsorship at its highly regarded Host City conference and awards. Launched in 2014, Host City conference is the international meeting of sports, business and cultural events, taking place each December in Glasgow. Speakers include sports federation presidents, festival owners, top music promoters and organising committees of major events of all kinds. The Host City awards recognise excellence at a ceremony within the conference.
Reporting to the Conference Director, the Sponsorship Lead will work as part of an experienced team. The role is part time, home-based, with occasional optional meetings in London or Oxford, and occasional travel for events and external meetings. Cavendish Group is an established business-to-business media company with over 20 years of experience of delivering market-leading events and content across a wide range of industry sectors. Our conferences are highly regarded for their quality of content, speakers and networking. This is an exciting role in a fast-paced media and events company with a friendly culture. Main Responsibilities
- Identify, research and establish contact with prospective sponsors.
- Acquire new business through online networking and cold calling.
- Build relationships with existing contacts and follow up on warm leads.
- Deliver a compelling and intelligent pitch highlighting the event’s purpose and benefits.
- Ensure all personal targets are met.
- Respond to enquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
- Work as a part of a team in achieving event targets.
- Ensure the CRM is updated.
- Provide visibility into pipelines and forecasts.

In addition to regular online meetings, team meetings in London or Oxford are possible and optional. As the role progresses there should be opportunities to travel and attend in-person events.
About You

- Proven track record in B2B sponsorship or event sales.
- Experience of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and hit targets.

- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team towards achieving overall goals.
- Initiative and motivation to work from home successfully.
- Knowledge of, and contacts across events, sport, cities, infrastructure or related sectors advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of using HubSpot or other CRM advantageous but not essential.
