Job Description: General Manager, established Restaurant & Events venue within Garden Centre. Main focus overseeing F&B outlets along with strategy to develop the site over the next 2 years. Busy site with strong reputation locally. Day time hours. 40 hours working 5 days out of 7.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily running of the café/restaurant and newly built Orangery that combined seat IRO 110 including breakfast and lunch service.
  • Staff training and monitoring of three full time and part time staff.
  • Manage the front-of-house team, recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing their performance.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, service, hygiene, and safety.
  • Develop menu ideas (in liaison with the head chef) look at seasonal offers, coffee & cake specials, themed events etc to drive income.
  • Ensure the restaurant space is always presented to a high standard.
  • Oversee our two small retail departments, monitoring the KPI’s.
  • Work as part of the buying/procurement team to maintain fresh, relevant product ranges and displays.
  • Lead the retail sales team: recruit, train, motivate, set targets, manage performance.
  • Monitor inventory, stock levels, pricing, margin, shrinkage/waste, seasonal transitions, send time sheets for staff to HO.
  • Collaborate with marketing/promotions to support seasonal campaigns, events and cross-promotion between restaurant and retail.
  • Ensure that the events are staffed up accordingly.
