Account Manager vacancy, BIRMINGHAM, HYBRID ROLE. £47,000 – £48,000 plus 20% bonus potential. 33 days holiday. This is a hybrid role with the expectation that you would work from the hotel 1 or 2 days per week and the rest you can work remotely. Primary focus of this role is the Birmingham hotel although you can also sell into the wider UK&I portfolio. Mileage paid for travel on the days you go to the hotel.
Reporting line into GM and Regional Director of Sales. An opportunity to work for an established hotel group and work alongside some great sales colleagues across the UK.
Job Summary
You will manage a portfolio of accounts and generate new business from within your geographical area and have specific responsibility to support the Birmingham hotel with local sales activity. Focus will also be to work collaboratively with colleagues to drive opportunities across our hotels in other UK & Ireland locations. Excited by the energetic and customer centric role of Sales, with a magnetic personality and passion for driving revenue and growth, you must be able to build strong productive working relationships, have a ‘go-getter’ attitude with the ability to execute new opportunities for the company.
Sales Activities
- Support and drive the hotels commercial action plan
- Create strong awareness of the hotel and brand within the local marketplace
- To have a sound understanding of competitor rates and local market intelligence
- To proactively carry out sales researching and cold calling to the local marketplace to identify new leads
- To successfully account manage and conduct quarterly and annual reviews with local corporate accounts
- To work closely with the commercial office team to understand business performance and booking patterns
- Follow up sales leads efficiently and update sales lead trackers
- Support with monthly and quarterly commercial meetings
- Actively seek, identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all market segments; in particular corporate and conference markets
- To develop beneficial affiliations and partnerships within the local area
- Log activities and contacts into internal hotel systems
- Work with the key hotel team members to strengthen current relationships within the local community
- Establish long standing relationships with key clients offering a high level of customer service
- To support and attend networking events and exhibitions inhouse, locally and nationally
- To make appointments and site visits
- To liaise with all operational departments to ensure smooth running of events and key bookings
- Contribute to sales conversion days and promote a fun and sales driven environment
- To carry out proactive sales activities including sales calls to the local and national market, corporate clients entertaining, meet and greets, guest drinks, VIP welcomes, and FAM trip entertaining
