A respected and well-established care home group is seeking to appoint a Senior Chef / Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations within one of its North London homes. The Role

Reporting to the Group Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents' individual needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering daily catering services in line with agreed menus
  • Adapting meals to meet dietary, cultural and medical requirements
  • Maintaining effective stock control and cost management
  • Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations
  • Supporting internal events and special catering requirements
  • Leading by example to maintain a professional, organised kitchen environment

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced and reliable chef with a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a structured setting. You will demonstrate:

  • Experience at Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef level
  • A recognised Level 3 Food Safety / Catering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety, and compliance standards
  • The ability to manage workload effectively and maintain consistent standards
  • A professional and collaborative approach to team working

Previous experience within a care, healthcare or contract catering environment is desirable, along with an understanding of nutritional requirements and regulatory expectations.
