Hospital Services Limited is a specialist distributor of medical supplies, surgical equipment and consumable products, servicing public and private hospitals across the UK and Ireland.

With a staff of 200, active in the market and based at offices in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.

In addition to supplying market leading technologies and solutions to our customers, HSL’s team provides on-going technical and clinical support to the end-end user of our products.

HSL is recruiting a Sales Executive to drive growth of our radiation protection range across radiology departments throughout the island of Ireland (Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland).

Radiation protection garments — including lead aprons, thyroid shields, and other personal protective apparel — protect clinical staff working with ionising radiation, and this role sits at the centre of how hospitals and imaging centres access and are properly fitted for that protection.

About the role

As Territory Sales Manager, you will be the face of the company across your region, responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts while actively seeking out and developing new business opportunities within both public and private hospitals.

You'll play a key role in shaping how our products are positioned and sold in the marketplace, and you'll be trusted to manage the full sales cycle from initial client contact through to order completion.

This is a varied role that combines relationship management, strategic input, and hands‑on sales activity.

You'll work closely with the administration and factory teams to ensure radiology departments and imaging customers receive the right products, samples, and support at every stage.

Core Deliverables / Focus of the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a sales territory covering hospitals, private clinics, and imaging centres across the island of Ireland.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with radiology department heads, radiographers, theatre managers, procurement teams, and radiation protection advisers (RPAs).
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and grow revenue from both existing accounts and new business.
  • Carry out on‑site customer measurement and fitting sessions for radiation protection apparel, ensuring accurate sizing and correct garment specification for each individual.
  • Advise customers on garment selection, lead‑equivalence ratings, and appropriate protective wear for different clinical settings and workloads.
  • Prepare and deliver quotations, tenders, and proposals in line with company pricing and margin guidelines.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and product demonstration through to order placement and after‑sales support.

Coordinate garment fitting visits and repeat measurement rounds with hospital departments, working around clinical schedules.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, measurements, orders, and pipeline activity in the company CRM.
  • Attend relevant trade exhibitions, clinical conferences, and internal sales meetings.
  • Stay up to date on radiation protection regulations, product developments, and competitor activity across the market.
  • Work closely with internal customer service, logistics, and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and garment quality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a field sales, territory management, or account management role — medical device, healthcare, or clinical products background preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a clinical/hospital environment, including theatre and radiology department settings.
  • Confident, personable manner suited to one‑to‑one customer measurement and fitting sessions.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills across a range of stakeholders, from front‑line clinical staff to senior procurement.
  • Well organised and self‑motivated, able to plan an efficient multi‑site territory diary independently.
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Ireland, with overnight stays as required.
