We are looking for a clinically qualified and experienced leader to head our In-Patient Care service across two sites: Pembury and Five Ashes. As Head of In-Patient Care, you will lead a large, skilled team to deliver high-quality palliative care around the clock. You will ensure seamless admissions, maintain excellent occupancy, and support patients and families to experience compassionate, goal-focused care. This is a key leadership post reporting directly to the Director of Care Services. You will work alongside other Heads of Service to make sure our care is joined-up, consistent, and outstanding. Main duties of the job

  • Clinical Leadership: Lead the In-Patient Care workforce to deliver the highest standards of care.
  • Operations and Governance: Manage occupancy, performance, and risk. Ensure all care complies with governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with multi-disciplinary teams, GPs, and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
  • People Management: Inspire a high-performing team. Ensure everyone has the tools, support, and leadership to thrive.
  • Service Development: Respond to patient feedback, audit outcomes and emerging needs. Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Culture: Promote our values and foster a culture of learning, collaboration and accountability.

Person Specification

  • Registered clinical qualification and membership of a relevant body
  • Significant leadership and management experience in health or social care
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised, responsive and forward-thinking
  • Palliative care qualification at Masters level.
  • Experience in hospice or palliative care
  • Skilled in data analysis and improvement planning
