Cottage Hospice is nurse led Service, providing 24/7 support to patients and their families at end of life. Providing personal care to patients following theiradmission toCottage Hospice,as well as support to those important to them, you will bean integral and valued part of our Hospice team and will work alongside other volunteers and members of staff.

For this role you will need to be:

• Able to communicate and behave in a caring, sympathetic, sensitive manner and have a non-judgemental approach
• Comfortable asking for help and support when needed
• Adaptable and willing to learn
• Able to work independently as needed
• Available to complete moving and handling training

What will I be doing?

Assisting patients with:

• Personal care
• Eating and drinking
• Moving, turning and positioning
• Changing the bed linen
• Care of the body after death

In addition to:

• Getting rooms ready for new admissions
• Answering and transferring telephone calls in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Using the patient database system, EMIS
• Greeting new admissions to Cottage Hospice
• Greeting families and visitors to Cottage Hospice
• Assisting other team members with additional essential tasks

Training will be provided to ensure you feel confident in your role and in promoting our core values/key messages.

When?

We offer shifts 7 days a week to run alongside our workforce:

07:30 – 14:00, 13:15 – 19:45 and 19:45 – 07:45
