If you are an experienced healthcare assistant, looking for a flexible and rewarding role, this might be the perfect position for you. You will work autonomously, predominantly in the patient's home, but you will also be an integral member of the wider, multi-disciplinary team.

- The post holder will provide practical care, emotional, social and psychological support to individuals with palliative care needs, their families and carers.
- This role involves regular and extended involvement caring for dying patients and their families.
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland (Hospice at Home) is a local independent charity that provides high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, and also for their relatives/carers.
Job responsibilities:- The post holder will provide direct personal and respite care, primarily in the patient's home.
- The post holder will provide practical, emotional, social and psychological support to individuals with palliative care needs, their families and carers.
- This role involves regular and extended involvement caring for dying patients and their families.

- Quality focused with an innovative approach to solving complex problems.
- Diplomacy sensitive to the needs of those affected by life-limiting illness.
- Flexibility to work various shifts patterns over 7 days a week.
- Ability to respond to changing work shifts.
- Must be able to travel autonomously across the geographical area covered by the service.
- IT Skills - knowledge of patient information systems e.g. EMIS.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent Health & Social Care.
- Experience in Palliative Care.
- Community experience.
- Experience of working autonomously.
