The Global Crew Readiness Operations Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the onboarding process for Marine positions and reports to the Director of Global Crew Readiness. The role is based in Weybridge, UK and requires strong communication, planning, stakeholder management, and time management skills given the urgent and critical nature of these positions. The Operations Specialist maximises efficiency and effectiveness to meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals, including reporting to stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides timely and customer‑focused service to crew members and internal customers in the Marine category.
  • Ensures each crew member receives appropriate support and guidance to create an exemplary onboarding experience.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, local, international, and company policies to protect crew safety and well‑being.
  • Liaises with Talent Attraction, Crew Assist, Scheduling, Visa, Port Agents, School, and Authorized Referral Sources to meet hiring and scheduling requirements.
  • Provides backup support to fellow Operations Specialists and serves as a consultant on visa, medical, and STCW requirements for shipboard roles.
  • Proactively resolves onboarding‑related situations, escalates irregularities to the Operations Supervisor, and continuously explores ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performs all administrative tasks related to the onboarding of shipboard employees.
  • Prepares various reports, including status reports, analysis, and lists of talent pools, and updates stakeholders accordingly.
  • Establishes monthly governance meetings with Recruitment, Scheduling, Mobility Centers, HR Onboard, and stakeholders.
  • Consistently meets the performance metrics set by the management team.
  • Performs other duties as required and participates in special projects assigned by management.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, hospitality management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent).
  • At least two (2) years of onboarding or related experience.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with stakeholders by meeting their expectations and supporting the overall goals of the organization.
