The Governors are seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated School Business Manager to lead and oversee the school’s business and operational functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring the school operates efficiently, effectively and within a strong financial and strategic framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the school’s financial management, budgeting and financial planning.
- Oversee procurement, contracts, purchasing and supplier relationships.
- Manage premises, facilities, maintenance and health & safety arrangements.
- Support HR, payroll and staff administration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Headteacher and Governors on strategic planning and resource management.
- Lead and develop administrative and support staff.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and value for money.
- Contribute to the continued development and success of the school.
- We are looking for someone who
- Has experience in financial, business or operational management, preferably within a school or education setting.
- Has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident managing budgets and making informed financial decisions.
- Can prioritise effectively and work calmly under pressure.
- Has strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Is committed to safeguarding, equality and providing an excellent service to pupils, staff and the wider school community.
