We are seeking an experienced and driven Lawyer to join our Serious and Catastrophic Injury department as a Team Leader. This is a unique opportunity to combine high-value casework with team management and mentorship, making it an ideal step for an established Team Leader or a Fee Earner ready to progress their career.
As a Team Leader, you will manage a team of 3–4 colleagues. The team will manage a caseload of some of the most high-profile, Serious and Catastrophic Injury incidents in the country.
Duties
- Managing a team of junior lawyers, promoting company values and best practice
- Providing leadership and ensuring efficient and effective management of staff and resources
- Random file supervision/reviews of on-going cases
- Assist the Company in achieving budget
- Provide and interpret any regulatory changes, legal information. Conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff
- Provide continuous leadership, supervision, and development of department staff, ensuring an effective and motivated team
- Assisting the company with business development
- Provide guidance and assistance to fee earners on day-to-day legal issues with first line support on case queries
- Advising team members on all aspects of Multi-Track work
- Provide liability and quantum advice to team members
- Give clear and concise written and verbal advice
Requirements
- Previous experience of running a Multi-Track caseload within a legal practice
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks and work towards stringent Court deadlines
- Strong drafting ability and experience
- Ability to resolve complaints
- Attention to detail with excellent organisation skills and willingness to learn are paramount
- Excellent client care skills and management of client expectations
- Empathetic, compassionate with an even temperament to deal with potentially difficult situations with the ability to think logically
