Are you experienced in Support Work and the Social Care sector and do you want to take your career to the next level? Then this role is for you! Horton Housing are currently recruiting for a Team Leader, experienced in supervising and leading a team of support workers to deliver housing-related support and to ensure all people we support receive a holistic, personalised, strength-based service.

The role is being offered on a full time permanent contract, working Monday to Friday (35 hours per week), but you must be able to work flexibly to cover the needs of the service and to be able to work one weekend in every four. In return you will receive an annual salary of £30,271.00, 6 weeks holiday (plus bank holidays), full access to our Employee Assistance Programme and exceptional training and development.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day operational management of the Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP) supported properties, consisting of 39 dispersed properties, 22 of those are direct SHAP dispersed properties, 17 are Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme (RSAP). You will also be responsible for overseeing the effective housing management of the service to ensure internal standards are met and regulatory requirements are upheld, as well as carry a small caseload and support the individuals with any aspects of their housing and support needs, using trauma informed practices and strength-based support.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in a support environment with an ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop colleagues.
  • Experience of working with people experiencing homelessness or social disadvantage.
  • Experience of strong partnership working including liaising and working closely with a range of housing providers, support services, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Experience of housing management including health and safety, repairs and maintenance, property checks, tenancy agreements, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues facing people experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, offending behaviour and drug/alcohol challenges.
  • Evidence of vocational training and/or professional development in relevant skills for the post (e.g. housing, mental health, welfare benefits, drug and alcohol challenges).

  • Ability to work flexibly on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Driving Licence and a vehicle for business use.
