Are you an experienced multi-skilled Caretaker looking to make a valuable difference in your local community? Horton Housing are currently recruiting for a Caretaker for our established scheme based in the Bradford area. The role is being offered on a permanent, full time contract (35 hours per week) with flexible working hours across Monday to Friday. The annual salary is £26,082.00 per annum. You will be entitled to 6 weeks paid annual leave (plus bank holidays) and full access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
Reporting to the Scheme Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and minor repair work at our Bradford Temporary Accommodation Service for families. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the main building and also our dispersed properties. You will ensure void properties are ready for re-let, report/manage repairs, sustain stock and inventory levels, and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness externally and internally.
Essential Skills & Experience Required for the Role:
- Experience of carrying out a varied range of maintenance and repair work to a professional standard, such as changing locks, unblocking drains, gutters and waste pipes, furniture removals etc.
- Experience of carrying out domestic duties to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Previous employment in a property maintenance capacity or related field.
- Understanding of the potential risks to health, safety and welfare encountered in maintenance work.
- Valid driving licence and use of vehicle permanently and insured for business use.
- Commitment to Equality & Diversity.
- A willingness to undertake any further training required.
