REPORTING TO: Directly to Laura Franklin (UK National Sales Manager).
BASED: Office Based at Hortonwood, with travel to meetings/sites potentially required when tendering for larger contracts as the role progresses (this would initially be attending along with the National Sales Manager or one of the Area Sales Managers).
Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused individual to support the continued growth of Horton Automatics UK through proactive business development and customer relationship management. This role combines outbound sales activity, lead generation, service contract administration, and customer support within the automatic door industry. The successful candidate will quickly develop both technical and commercial knowledge of the Horton product range to confidently support customers and generate new business opportunities. Full training will be provided. A strong emphasis is placed on outbound prospecting and lead generation, making previous telesales, business development, or sales experience essential and a pre-requisite for this role. This is a targeted sales role, and successful completion of the probationary period will be performance-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong technical and commercial understanding of the Horton product range and services.
- Proactively generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, prospecting activities, and email campaigns.
- Identify and engage potential customers for service and maintenance contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, quotations, and outcomes.
- Prepare and issue accurate quotations for service and maintenance contracts in a timely manner.
- Follow up all customer enquiries and leads promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with Area Sales personnel to arrange customer meetings for larger contract opportunities.
- Attend customer meetings when tendering for large service contracts with the Area Sales Manager, or remotely on teams when required.
- Meet agreed monthly sales, revenue, and new business targets.
- Utilise procurement and tendering platforms to identify and submit opportunities for service contracts.
- Maintain company registrations and information across procurement portals including: Intend, Proactis / Due North, eTenderWales, Other public sector procurement platforms.
- Monitor tender opportunities within local authority, healthcare, and education sectors.
- Produce regular sales forecasts and activity reports, including pipeline updates, quotations issued, and order intake.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Attend meetings at Horton premises as required.
- Complete the BS EN 16005 ADSA training programme and examination following successful completion of probation (fully funded by Horton).
- Represent the company professionally at all times and uphold the standards and reputation of Horton (Novoferm).
- Undertake any additional reasonable duties as requested by management.

- Experience preparing quotations and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to learn technical products and services quickly.
- Professional telephone manner and customer-focused attitude.
- Experience with tendering or procurement platforms would be advantageous.
