The Data Analyst will work as part of the Digital and Analytics department. They will be required to support the development of data analytics, providing internal customers with insights to enable data driven decision making. These activities will include creating reports, developing our BI environment and supporting the development of our centralised data warehouse.

Reporting Relationship

The Data Analyst will report to the Continuous Improvement Lead.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyse data to identify trends and forecasts.
  • Create reports and insights for a wide range of departments, enabling data driven decision making.
  • Support the development of PowerBI for business reporting and analysis.
  • Support the maintenance of PowerBI and Qlik Sense.
  • Support the development of a centralised SQL data warehouse.
  • Work closely with department heads to optimise available insights & reports.
  • Support the ERP Lead by recommending data input improvements, to enhance available data insights.
  • Create extraction programs for new data sources, moving the data into the data warehouse.
  • Integrate new datasets into existing reports.
  • Undertake other additional duties that may be required from time to time as determined by the company and/or your Line Manager.

Knowledge & Ability Required

  • The ability to translate business insights from a variety of source data.
  • Strong Maths skills.
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of business functions, from Finance to Operations.
  • Strong understanding of modern business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong SQL Knowledge.
  • Understanding of the full ETL pipeline.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience communicating data insights & new user interfaces/functionality to non-technical customers.

The post holder will desirably have, or will be able to develop:

  • Experience using Qlik Sense/Power BI.
  • Strong SSIS Knowledge.
  • Programming experience (Python preferable).
  • Strong Data Warehouse experience.
