Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Repairs Operative role based in London. The Repairs Operative will carry out day-to-day maintenance, repair, and other tasks in tenants’ homes and communal areas, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with relevant standards. Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults
- Completing repairs within competence
- Prioritising urgent and emergency repairs
- Visiting multiple properties
- Recording work completed
- Ordering or requesting materials
- Updating job records accurately
- Liaising with tenants and colleagues
- Scheduling follow-up visits where necessary
- Contributing to delivering a high level of satisfaction and service quality
Skills & abilities
- Demonstrable competence within a primary trade (general plumbing, carpentry)
- Various multi-trade skills and experience (tiling, painting and plastering), sufficient to enable the completion of repairs at the first visit (first time fix)
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Proven ability to work methodically, follow procedures and accurately record data and information
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems seeking any advice required
- Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift weights in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines
- Ability to operate safely having considered any environmental circumstances and possible risks
