BOARD MEMBERS
Hornsey Housing Trust is a small but ambitious housing association which celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2023. Established by the notable social reformer Margaret Hill CBE, we retain our founding principles to provide good housing for people on low incomes. We focus on housing older people in Hornsey and the wider Haringey area, a rapidly increasing demographic. We are proud of our heritage, and keen to find new ways to fulfil it as we move towards our centenary.
We are proud of our achievements over the last few years, expanding the skillset and diversity of our Board of Management, strengthening tenant involvement, establishing an “in-house” repairs team, implementing a new five-year corporate plan, developing asset management and growth strategies and appointing a new Chief Executive and Chair.
This is an exciting time to join our Board, helping us to continue our journey as we deliver our corporate plan. You will be joining an experienced and highly skilled Board, committed to providing the best outcomes for our tenants and our local community. Your experience as a strategic leader will be pivotal to supporting our senior staff team, whilst your collaborative and curious nature will help you work effectively with existing Board members, tenants and local communities to achieve our vision and deliver our priorities, in line with our values.
To complement our Board, we are seeking skills in strategic leadership & finance, asset/housing management and customer service, as we replace two extremely valuable members stepping down at the end of their six-year term. Business and commercial skills could be an additional benefit.
We are excited about our opportunities for developing more homes, navigating the carbon neutral agenda as a small Trust, and strengthening our communications with a view to co-creating and continuously improving our services in partnership with our tenants.
We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that candidates may need during any stage of the recruitment process. We also offer reasonable adjustments to ensure the effective ongoing participation of newly recruited Board members.
Haringey is a very diverse borough, our tenants are equally diverse and we encourage applications from members of different ethnic and cultural groups and of all protected characteristics.
