The Candidate
We are looking for a practical,reliable and proactive individual who takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming andwell-maintained environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. You will ideally have experience in a sitesecurity, safety, cleaning or maintenance environment, alongside a good understanding ofworking within a school setting. With a practical, hands-on approach and excellentattention to detail, you'll be someone who enjoys finding solutions and making sure things are done toa high standard. You'll be organised, approachableand confident in working with a wide range of people, from children and colleagues tocontractors and visitors. We're looking for someone with a friendly yet professional manner,who communicates effectively, takes responsibility and can prioritise tasks while respondingpositively when priorities change. A genuine 'can-do' attitude is essential, as is theability to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively to the wider schoolcommunity. Above all, you'll share ourcommitment to providing an excellent service and putting the needs of pupils at the heart ofwhat you do. You'll be professional, energetic and committed to continuous improvement, with awillingness to learn, develop new skills and embrace new ideas. Skills and Abilities
- Good practical and DIY skills.
- Ability to undertake minor repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to keep accurate records and report maintenance issues when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work positively with staff, pupils, parents, contractors and visitors.
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected problems.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
