A successful mortgage brokerage is seeking a Junior Mortgage Broker to support an experienced Adviser and help deliver high‑quality mortgage and protection advice to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their mortgage career who is eager to learn, develop and work towards full competency under FCA regulations and Consumer Duty expectations.

Working arrangement: This position is hybrid, with a split of remote and office‑based working. The successful candidate must be based within a commutable distance of Fareham to attend the office regularly as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist senior brokers with researching mortgage and protection products and preparing recommendations in line with FCA rules and Consumer Duty.
  • Gather, check and process client documentation, ensuring accurate records and compliant file keeping.
  • Liaise with lenders, protection providers, solicitors and clients to help progress applications through to completion.
  • Handle initial client enquiries via phone, video call and email, taking detailed fact‑find information under supervision.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of mortgage criteria, interest rates and lender requirements in the UK market.
  • Contribute to a culture of treating customers fairly, delivering suitable advice outcomes and clear, fair and not misleading communications.

Skills and experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in a junior mortgage broker role.
  • CeMAP Level 3.
  • Competent Adviser Status (CAS) and FCA authorisation.
  • Strong attention to detail, numeracy and written communication skills.
  • Confident using CRM systems, online lender portals and communication tools (Teams, Zoom, e‑signing, document sharing).
  • Self‑motivated, organised and comfortable working with a mix of home and office‑based supervision and training.
