Salary Grade B – Actual Salary £16,864 – £17,090 based on 29.42 hours per week (FTE £24,796 – £25,128).
In addition, an annual performance award is available for application up to 3% of FTE salary.
Responsibilities- Provide general education support to students across all subjects, using sound literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Work with students who are autistic, helping them develop academic, social, communication, sensory, and anxiety management skills.
- Support students in a calm and positive manner, addressing challenging behaviours and ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with the Resourced Provision team to facilitate students' access to the whole college site for most lessons.
- Good general education background with strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Experience working with autistic students is desirable.
- Willingness to learn and extend knowledge of autism-related support.
- Patience, understanding, commitment, and a sincere desire to help young people.
- A sense of humour and a 'can do' attitude are essential.
Induction, training, and professional development will be provided.
