Job summary Horncastle Medical Group is looking for an enthusiastic and committed General Practitioner to join our friendly, established and supportive team. We are ideally seeking a GP to work 8 sessions per week, although part-time applications are very welcome and will be considered. You will be joining an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team including 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic and a Mental Health Practitioner, alongside our wider nursing, dispensing and administrative teams. We are an established training practice, currently caring for 10,366 patients, and are CQC rated Good. We use SystmOne and provide dispensing services on site. This is an exciting time to join Horncastle Medical Group. Our surgery is based in a beautiful Old Vicarage, providing a distinctive and welcoming environment for both our patients and our team. We are also investing in the future of the practice, with expansion works currently in progress to create additional clinical rooms. Main duties of the job As a GP at Horncastle Medical Group, you will provide high-quality general medical services to our registered patient population while working closely with our experienced multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribing and reviewing medication appropriately
- Making referrals to secondary and community services where required
- Supporting disease prevention, health promotion and long-term condition management
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records using SystmOne
- Working collaboratively with our GP Partners, GPs ANPs, Paramedic, Mental Health Practitioner and wider clinical team
- Participating in clinical meetings, audit and quality-improvement activities
- Contributing to the learning and development culture of our training practice
- Contributing to the safe, effective and continued development of practice services
About us Horncastle Medical Group is an established training practice providing primary care to a current patient population of 10,366. We are CQC rated Good and have an experienced multidisciplinary team, including:

This increased capacity will support the continued development of our team and the services we offer to our local community. Working Pattern We are ideally seeking a GP for 8 sessions per week. However, we understand the importance of flexibility and work-life balance, and part-time applications will also be welcomed and considered. Specific working days and session arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Qualifications Essential
- Applicants should:
- Hold a recognised medical qualification
- Have full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Be included on the NHS England Medical Performers List, or be eligible for inclusion
- Have the appropriate experience and competence to work as a GP in UK general practice
- Demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills
- Be committed to providing safe, compassionate and patient-centred care
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain appropriate continuing professional development and professional standards
Desirable
- Previous experience working within NHS general practice
- Experience using SystmOne
- An additional clinical interest or specialist skill that complements the existing practice team
- An interest in teaching and supporting learners within a training-practice environment
- Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement
