Position Summary
City Cruises UK is part of the City Experiences division of the Hornblower Group, a global leader in world-class experiences and transportation services.
We operate public dining and sightseeing cruises as well as private charters for corporate events, birthday parties, weddings, or other special occasions across London.
Working closely with our F&B function, the Commis Chef De Partie will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team in preparing meals served on our fleet of dining boats in London.
You need to be passionate about food and able to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.
You will be working in a land-based kitchen. Due to the logistics of our operation, we aim to deliver a modest number of dishes to an exceptionally high standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure all necessary ingredients and equipment are prepped and ready for service before the shift begins.
- Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the Head Chef
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness at your workstation, follow food safety guidelines, and properly store food deliveries.
- Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times
- Work across different sections of the kitchen to learn various culinary techniques
- To follow specs and recipes set out by the Head Chef
- Assist with stock rotation, minimising food waste, and monitoring inventory levels.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef, with experience of high-volume catering and hospitality
- Level 2 in Food Hygiene.
- Competent level of English spoken and written Skills
- Experience working in a standards/compliance environment
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
