This is a part time, fixed term contract until 6th Sept 2026. 20 hours per week - £12.71 per hour. Start date 18th July 2026.

Position Summary:

To support the safe and efficient operation of the self‑drive boat hire fleet by ensuring customers are correctly issued with and fitted for appropriate personal flotation devices (life jackets), assisting with customer departures and returns, and helping maintain high standards of safety, customer service and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Issue suitable life jackets to all customers using the self‑drive boats. Ensure life jackets are correctly fitted and adjusted before customers board. Demonstrate the correct use and wearing of life jackets where required. Check that all required safety equipment is available before vessels are dispatched. Report damaged, defective or missing life jackets and safety equipment. Support the company's health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Customer Service: Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner. Assist customers through the pre‑departure process. Answer basic questions regarding the boat hire process and safety procedures. Provide clear instructions relating to the use of life jackets and embarkation. Help ensure customers have a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Operational Duties: Prepare life jackets for daily use, ensuring they are clean, dry and serviceable. Collect, inspect and store life jackets following customer returns. Keep records of damaged or withdrawn equipment where required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the life jacket storage and operating areas.
  • General Responsibilities: Comply with all company policies and procedures. Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform and PPE. Treat customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect. Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
  • Physically able to lift and carry life jackets and work outdoors for extended periods.

  • Knowledge of water safety or boating operations.
