HAPANI is seeking an experienced, values-driven Family Work Co-ordinator to lead frontline delivery of the Belonging Together project, supporting refugee and asylum-seeking families - particularly women and children - through safe, inclusive and culturally sensitive family and community activities.

LOCATION
Belfast, Northern Ireland
HOURS
17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)
SALARY
£15,570 per annum
CONTRACT
Fixed term – 2 years, subject to funding
Key responsibilities
- Lead Women & Family Belonging Circles and Parent–Child Play & Early Years sessions.
- Create safe, welcoming and trauma-informed spaces that support wellbeing and participation.
- Integrate childcare support and work with the English Tutor to build informal English confidence.
- Identify, support and guide refugee women as peer supporters and community connectors.
- Build partnerships with schools, health services, ESOL providers and community organisations.
- Maintain safeguarding standards, project records, participant feedback and funder reporting.
Essential requirements
- Lived experience of migration or displacement.
- Experience in family support, community development or refugee integration work.
- Experience working with women and children experiencing poverty, isolation or trauma.
- Experience facilitating community-based group sessions and knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and ability to work sensitively across cultures.
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic or Somali, including reading, writing and speaking.
