We are looking for caring, committed, and resilient Residential Child Care Workers to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people by providing safe, nurturing, and consistent care within a residential setting.

As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will support children and young people in their daily lives, helping them feel secure, valued, and encouraged to achieve their individual goals. Working as part of a supportive team, you will provide day-to-day care, guidance, and structure, while building positive relationships with children, families, and partner professionals.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality, child-centred care in a residential setting
  • Support the safety, wellbeing, and development of children and young people
  • Act as a keyworker, supporting care planning and goal setting
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
  • Promote positive routines, boundaries, and meaningful daily experiences

Pay

  • Fully qualified and experienced candidates (HNC and SVQ3): Minimum £14 per hour
  • Approximate annual salary of £33,890 (including sleepover allowance)

Shifts

  • Full-time: 24-hour shifts with an 8-hour paid sleepover
  • Pattern: 3 x 24-hour shifts followed by 3 days off
  • 9-week rolling rota, planned in advance
  • Part-time options: 12-hour shifts (10am–10pm) or 6-hour shifts (10am–4pm or 4pm–10pm)

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting
  • A willingness to work unsocial hours, including weekends
  • A clean driving licence (for driving roles)
  • The ability to work towards or hold relevant qualifications required for SSSC registration
