Horizons Specialist Academy Trust comprises eight Academies and one Sixth Form across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire supporting more than 1000 students with a wide range of learning difficulties and additional needs. We specialise in supporting students with a diverse range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including autism, alongside a variety of physical, sensory and complex needs.
We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience of working within a Special Educational Needs setting. This role will be based at our Fairfax Provision in Middlesbrough.
Responsibilities- Provide support both in and out of the classroom, helping students to access learning, develop independence and build confidence.
- Support students with their educational, social and physical needs, ensuring they are able to engage fully in their learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to assist students in achieving their potential.
- Respond flexibly to the varied needs of our students and adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge.
- Experience of working within a Special Educational Needs setting.
- Committed, enthusiastic, caring, adaptable and motivated individual.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teaching staff and professionals.
