Abbey Hill Academy, Stockton on Tees, TS19 8BU. Horizons Specialist Academy Trust comprises eight Academies and one Sixth Form across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire supporting more than 1000 students with a wide range of learning difficulties and additional needs. We specialise in supporting students with a diverse range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including autism, alongside a variety of physical, sensory and complex needs.

We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience of working within a Special Educational Needs setting. This role will be based at our Fairfax Provision in Middlesbrough.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support both in and out of the classroom, helping students to access learning, develop independence and build confidence.
  • Support students with their educational, social and physical needs, ensuring they are able to engage fully in their learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to assist students in achieving their potential.
  • Respond flexibly to the varied needs of our students and adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working within a Special Educational Needs setting.
  • Committed, enthusiastic, caring, adaptable and motivated individual.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teaching staff and professionals.
  • Flexible approach and positive response to varied student needs.
