Term Time + 5 PL days, 10 hrs per week (Mon-Fri 11.45am - 13.45pm) Pt 3 - £5,976 (actual salary – pay award pending).
The Woodlands Academy is now part of Horizons Specialist Academy Trust. The Trust comprises eight Academies across Tees Valley, County Durham and North Yorkshire and together we support over 1000 children and young people with a range of special educational needs. As a Special Academy, we offer a curriculum and provision tailored to children with a wide range of SEN needs. We have a strong focus on Autism, Communication Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supported by ongoing staff CPD. Our Academy is growing and well regarded in the community. We recently achieved a Good Ofsted rating and are undertaking redevelopment of The Woodlands Academy to a new purpose-built facility.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team and support an efficient catering service to the highest standards of food safety. Working in our Academy is rewarding as part of a team dedicated to enriching the education of pupils. We encourage applications from candidates who have a passion for special education and wish to work in a challenging and rewarding setting.
Responsibilities:- Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of food to pupils and staff.
- Wash up and clean within the kitchen and ensure maintenance of health & safety standards.
- Support the catering department to operate an efficient service in line with food safety requirements.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working in a special education environment.
- Postholders will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and a 6-month probationary period.
