Horizons Residential Child Care UK Limited is a residential childcare provider based in Berwick-upon-Tweed aiming to provide a therapeutic and nurturing residential home for children and young people. Our ethos encompasses a holistic approach to the care we provide. This includes the provision of a physically safe and comfortable place to live and to safeguard and promote the welfare of each child and young person. In addition, supporting all children and young people in developing their identity and self-esteem whilst supporting and promoting both the social and life skills that will enable them to live safely and productively in the community.

Hourly Rate for Deputy Managers is in the range of £17.00 to £20.00. Approx. Salary Range- £35,360 - £41,600 per annum, plus sleep over and on call allowance. Experienced and Fully Qualified (NVQ3 and NVQ 4 residential childcare) applicants will be on the following Pay Rate: A minimum Annual Salary of approximately £36,000, plus on call and sleepovers of about £6,000.

As a Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the efficient running of the residential home. You will largely be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in the efficient operational management of the house as well as providing excellent care to the children and young people. You will have responsibility for managing a team of staff and must be experienced in motivating and providing support to colleagues when necessary. You will be assisted by Senior Residential Child Care Workers in carrying out the set Duties and Responsibilities. As part of ongoing professional development, you will also be required to highlight training needs, supervision, and rota management and have an excellent understanding of Social Care Standards. Horizons strives to improve efficiency across all operations and you will be expected to contribute in any efficiency drives of the Organisation, including helping achieve appropriate levels of staffing to reflect occupancy in the House. Upon successful recruitment to the post, you will undergo an intensive programme of Induction and Training.

Shift Patterns

To reduce travel to the Care Home for work, it is proposed to use double shift patterns with sleep ins, resulting on average to only two trips to the Home per week.

Essential

  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Relevant Experience in the Residential Child Care Sector in a supervisory role.
  • Able to work unsocial hours, including Weekend and perform on-call duties.
  • Working hours: You will be working an average of 40 hours per week.
