Registered Manager (Domiciliary / Homecare)

Horizons Homecare | Lancaster and Morecambe

£34,000 to £40,000 per year | Full time | Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Lead a local homecare team, help shape our company and make a lasting difference in your community.

We’re looking for an experienced domiciliary care Registered Manager, or an exceptional deputy ready to step up, to lead our newly established Lancaster and Morecambe branch.

You’ll join a service with around 20 care staff and an office team already in place. With direct Area Manager support, involved directors and a place on our Senior Leadership Team, you’ll have both practical support and a voice in how Horizons develops.

At Horizons Homecare, our values of Kindness, Continuity, Punctuality and Family guide how we care for people and support our colleagues. Our ambition is to provide excellent care and rewarding jobs within our local community.

We know managers can be expected to handle everything from care quality to marketing, finance and business strategy. At Horizons, you’ll have colleagues with those specialist skills to support you, allowing you to focus on leading your branch, developing your team and maintaining high standards of care.

You’ll have the support and opportunity to grow:

  • Direct Area Manager support and weekly support meetings.
  • Accessible operational and executive directors who are actively involved.
  • Membership of our Senior Leadership Team, contributing to company decisions.
  • Career development towards greater responsibility and promotion.
  • 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, plus one additional day for each completed year of service.
  • Limited shared on call, paid separately, with the aim of removing the manager’s on call requirement.

Your role will centre on quality, culture and community:

  • Lead, support and develop a team that takes pride in delivering consistent, person centred care.
  • Oversee safe recruitment, induction, training, supervision and staff performance.
  • Maintain CQC compliance through effective governance, accurate records and continuous improvement.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns, complaints and operational challenges with sound judgement.
  • Oversee care reviews, quality assurance and the safe daily running of the branch.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families and local partners, helping grow our reputation across Lancaster and Morecambe.
  • Work with the wider leadership team to improve how we deliver care and support our people.

We’d like to hear from you if you bring:

  • Strong leadership experience in domiciliary care, as a Registered Manager or a deputy ready for greater responsibility.
  • A practical understanding of safeguarding, CQC requirements and what good homecare looks like.
  • The confidence to support colleagues, address problems early and turn feedback into improvements.
  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills.
  • A relevant Level 5 qualification, or current study towards one.
  • A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and Business Class 1 insurance.

Previous involvement in a CQC inspection would be beneficial. We value evidence of how you lead and improve a service, and welcome strong deputies applying for their first Registered Manager position.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Our preferred start date is December 2026 or January 2027.

Alongside your CV, tell us briefly about one improvement you personally led in care quality or team performance: what you changed and the difference it made. A few sentences are enough. Please keep any examples anonymous.

Shortlisted applicants will receive an introductory call from one of our directors, followed by a two stage interview process.
