Horizon Teachers are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in Barnet, supporting children within the SEND provision on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly supportive SEN provision. You'll be working in a small, nurturing class environment with pupils who have Autism, delivering focused 1:1 and small group interventions. Alongside teachers and TAs, you'll play a key role in helping every child reach their full potential and flourish both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEND (Autism, non-verbal)
  • Work with the class teacher, teaching assistants and wider inclusion team to deliver engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
  • Help prepare and tidy the classroom throughout the day.
  • Support with lunch-time duty.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in all pupils.
  • Support with personal care (feeding, changing, etc.)

About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a professional or personal capacity
  • Confident supporting children with various levels of Autism, as well as pupils who are non-verbal
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
  • Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, positive approach and a collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable with personal care
