Horizon Teachers are working with an Ofsted rated Good' Primary School based in Bromley, assisting in their search for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting after the Easter Holidays until the end of July. This is a part-time position with potential to progress into a full-time position further down the line. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for working with children and wants to continue developing as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
The role:
- Support a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis, in and out of the classroom.
- Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and social interactions.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt learning materials.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with communication and language development using recommended strategies.
- Support the child's participation in group activities and transitions.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and external professionals.
About you:
- Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or speech and language delay (desirable but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
