Location – Southwark, South London

Start date – As soon as possible, on a full-time basis

Pay rate – Β£14.25 – Β£18 per hour

We are working with a very welcoming and inclusive Children\’s Centre based in Southwark, and they are looking for a caring, enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to work with their children aged 0-5 years old.

This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible on a full-time basis with the potential to continue for the next academic year. The Nursery offers flexible shifts between the hours of 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm or 10am – 6pm.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you have previous experience working within an Early Years setting, and holding a Level 3 childcare qualification (or similar) is very desirable.

Key Responsibilities as a Nursery Assistant:

  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged 0-5.
  • Support children\’s physical, emotional, and social development through play and age-appropriate activities.
  • Assist with daily routines, including feeding, changing, and sleeping.
  • Monitor and record children\’s development and progress.

What we\’re looking for:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare is desirable (but not essential if you have experience in a similar setting)
  • Experience working with babies in an early year setting.
  • A warm, patient, and engaging approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children\’s wellbeing.
