Horizon Teachers have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join a two-form entry school that delivers an exciting curriculum containing attention-grabbing topics. This school is an outstanding Church School where the Christian values on which it is founded unite and inspire both adults and learners.
Key responsibilities:- To work with individual and/or groups of Early Years students to support the transition into the classroom and access to the curriculum
- Contribute to teachers' planning and preparation as appropriate
- Provide verbal/written feedback to the teacher
- Assist in the selection and preparation of teaching resources in order to meet individual and group pupil needs and interest
- Use behaviour management strategies, in line with school policy and procedures
- Recognise and challenge any incidents of inappropriate behaviour ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures
- To work as part of a team and enjoy working with students and professionals including specialist therapy providers
- Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment
- To supervise pupils during leisure time including on the playground
- Participate in inset days, training activities and sessions offered by the school and other external agencies
