Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in education? Are you considering teacher training and keen to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting? Horizon Teachers is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Southwest London from September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and developing their classroom experience.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom, delivering one-to-one and small group interventions while helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 where applicable)
- Providing one-to-one and small group academic support
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Supporting students with additional learning needs where required
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and academic progress
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Hold a degree in any subject
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Are passionate about working with young people
- Are reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive
- Have previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
