Behaviour Mentor

• Location – Croydon, South East London
• Start date – September until July 2026, on a full-time basis
• Pay rate – £90 – £120 per day

Horizon Teachers are working with a SEND School in the Croydon area that are looking to appoint Behaviour Mentors to help cover with staff absences on a long-term, full time basis starting in September, on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year in July 2026.

This all through School caters for students aged 5 – 17 that have Mild Learning Difficulties, such as Autism and being non-verbal. As some of the students in this school have challenging behaviours it would be desirable if you have previous experience supporting students with SEN needs, but this isn\’t essential.

Being a Behaviour Mentor within this school you will need to be patient, energetic and resilient in nature and be able to be flexible with a positive attitude to create a relationship with the students.

This will be a very rewarding role for the right person and will pay up to £600 per week.

What the school are looking for in their Behaviour Mentors:

• Previous experience working with SEND – especially children with Autism and challenging behaviours
• Moving and Handling experience is very desirable
• Comfortable to lead small groups as well as working 1:1 with vulnerable students
• Happy to conduct personal care
• Passionate and not afraid to get hands on
