Successful candidates will receive both the BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry and the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF).

- Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top-up): If you want to work in the private security industry in the UK, you’ll need a Close Protection Licence, as required by the SIA (Security Industry Authority). Since 1 October 2021, anyone renewing their Door Supervision or Security Guard licence is required to hold a valid first aid qualification and complete a short top-up training course. This course ensures candidates meet the necessary requirements, including important safety updates, counter terrorism awareness and handling emergencies and incidents.

UK Law (SIA Act 2001) requires anyone working in this field to hold a Close Protection Licence. This BTEC Level 3 Close Protection course goes beyond the basics, providing candidates with the skills and knowledge for a successful career in executive protection. Successful candidates will receive a BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry, valid for 3 years.

It complies with all the required standards, including DODI 3020.50 for Private Security Contractors (PSCs) working in conflict zones, as well as UK Defence Standards like DEFSTAN 05-129 and DEFCON 697 for contractors on deployed operations.
