We are seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Operative for our client based in Diss. This is a full-time permanent role with working hours of 07:30 – 15:30, Monday – Friday. The pay rate offered is initially £13.25 per hour with the possibility of earning a quarterly productivity bonus (on successful completion of the probationary period).

The Company is a UK sales and manufacturing company operating within the construction industry and home improvement sector. Established 30 years ago, the company enjoys year-on-year success with representation in the UK, across Europe, Ireland and the US. They are a friendly and well-established team who work hard together to make sure customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything they do.

The Job involves taking responsibility for and focusing on transport planning for delivery of products to site, as well as assisting with daily management of the warehouse, with the goal of increasing efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Plan and book transport with approved couriers ensuring maximum profitability and pay-load utilisation
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Oversee customers clearance documentation
  • Evaluate transport performance metrics
  • Stock control and inventory checks
  • General Warehouse duties as required
  • Unload deliveries from vehicles and inspect for damage or shortages

Working closely with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, Operations Manager, Production and Project Managers, we require someone with the following skills and attributes:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven working experience in a similar busy role where transport planning is part of the role
  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
  • FLT Licence
  • Good computer and numerical skills
  • Good geographical knowledge would be very helpful
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
