Based in Germany, our client is a market leader in the development of a range of pumps and valves primarily used to transport toxic or explosive substances within chemical and petrochemical industries. Founded in the 1940s, the company is a world leading supplier of centrifugal, side channel and twin‑screw pumps in various designs which are either seal‑less with Magnetic Drive or mechanically sealed. They also offer a wide range of valves, playing a major role in ensuring plants operate reliably to protect both people and the environment.
Role Overview
The primary purpose of the UK Sales Manager is to grow the customer base by learning about customers’ specific needs and offering solutions, forging strong relationships with existing customers to ensure long‑term company success. The position requires full‑time, permanent commitment, includes UK‑wide travel to meet customers, and a regular presence at the office in Suffolk.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for sales development in the UK and managing the UK branch’s cost structure.
- Develop strategies for sustainable and consistent growth in collaboration with HQ.
- Maintain and expand customer relationships to maximise sales.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis and identify new sales opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive customer support and guidance, collaborating with HQ to find bespoke solutions for customer‑specific projects, processing enquiries, offering advice and preparing quotations.
- Conduct damage analysis and repairs on site as required.
- Follow up with customers after a quotation has been issued.
- Represent the company at trade fairs and events.
- Manage the administrative and financial operations of the branch.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience as a UK Sales Manager with relevant industry experience.
- Ideally a degree in a technical subject such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related qualification.
- Product, market, and industry knowledge in the field of special pumps, ideally with Magnetic Drive pumps.
- Strong aptitude for numbers and commercial acumen.
- Proficient in MS Office and modern communication technologies.
- Ability to plan work independently and manage the assistant in the Suffolk office.
- True entrepreneurial spirit, excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Technical aptitude combined with excellent commercial acumen.

This role is offered on a full‑time, permanent basis. Salary is dependent on experience and includes benefits.
