We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant for our client based at their site in rural Cambridgeshire near Royston. This full‑time, permanent role is based on site in Fowlmere.

Role Overview

Working within the Finance team and reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will cover the Accounts for two companies within the group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Credit control, including setting credit limits
  • Input new customer and supplier details into the accounting system
  • Preparation of fortnightly and ad‑hoc payment runs on the banking systems, and allocation of those payments onto the accounting system
  • Credit card claims
  • Processing of employee expenses
  • Processing sales invoices in SAP, sending dispatch documents to customers and creating delivery notes
  • Assist with supplier, customer and internal team queries by email and phone
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Reconciling debtor and creditor ledgers
  • Support and cover over team members, including some supplier invoice processing
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and journalling depreciation
  • Month end repayments, accruals, deferred income
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Review of GRNI and open deliveries
  • Collate information for, and assist with year‑end audit

The Person

For this role we are seeking an organised individual ideally who has some previous experience within an Accounts Department and the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working within credit control
  • Accounts payable experience
  • Previous experience of banking
  • Ideally either AAT or bookkeeping qualifications
  • Experience with SAP Business 1 would also be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and to multitask
  • Good attention to detail

Details

This role is offered on a Full‑time, permanent basis and the working hours are 37.5 hours a week: Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 15:45 (with 45‐minute unpaid lunch). The salary offered is dependent on experience and includes benefits as well as opportunities for progress and growth within the business.
