If you are passionate about sales and renewable energy, this may be your opportunity to join a small team focused upon the identification and development of large solar PV projects. Horizon Power & Energy is a professional business based in Hampshire which designs, develops and constructs solar farms and large solar PV rooftop and car port projects. We are now seeking a Sales and Marketing Representative to support the continued growth of the business in both the public and private sector.
In your role as Sales & Marketing Representative, you will have responsibility for delivering the companies sales and marketing strategy, including:
- Undertaking market research and identifying sales opportunities in our target market
- Developing a sales outreach strategy in target markets and executing same
- Developing marketing collateral (case studies, brochure, guides, video content)
- Maintaining a social media presence in accordance with company guidelines
- Maintaining registration on Public Sector buying frameworks and submitting initial responses to selected opportunities
- Lead generation and qualification in accordance with company guidelines
- Initial response to inbound enquiries and chasing leads by mail and phone
- Preparing prequalification submissions and managing the prequalification process
- Supporting bid preparation and submission
- Managing regular project pipeline reviews and implementing agreed actions
- Maintaining the required project and CRM databases
- Producing periodic reports on pipeline volume and shape
Your formal place of work will be Southampton Science Park, albeit we do allow some hybrid working. A regular bus service runs to the Science Park from central Southampton. Your working hours will be 09:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition to public holidays, you will be entitled to 25 paid days leave per annum, and this shall be taken through agreement with your line manager.
Candidates should ideally possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Have an interest in learning about renewable energy and solar PV.
- Degree, HND or A Level qualified, preferably in business administration, English or sales and marketing.
- Good communication skills, both in person and over the telephone.
- A natural focus on detail and an ability to follow processes
- A good team worker, who is enthusiastic and motivated.
- You should be highly computer literate and comfortable working with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- The primary function of the role is sales, so experience of high value sales in a business-to-business environment will be a distinct advantage.
Successful applicants will be expected to complete on-the-job training. Specific training will be given in the following areas, and time will be set aside for this during the early stages of employment. You should also expect to make a limited number of day trips to view project installations:
