The Role: We are looking for a Swim Teacher to join us in transforming our business from 'good' to 'great'! This is a thrilling time for our company, and we need a key team member like you to help us achieve unprecedented success.

What does the role involve?

  • To deliver a varied programme of swimming lessons within the class framework ensuring customers obtain the maximum benefit in a reasonable timescale, in a safe, fun and stimulating environment.
  • To promote and support the Swim School to ensure continued attendance of lessons throughout the year.

The team: You’ll be working within our Swim Team working with the Swim Coordinator and Aquatic Development Manager.

Your responsibilities:

  • Follow the Swim England Syllabus, maximizing the time and space available whilst ensuring the individual and group needs are met every session.
  • Prepare appropriate lesson plans in line with syllabus to provide high quality lessons as per STA/ASA guidelines.
  • Ensure the smooth movement of swimmers within the programme through continuous assessment.
  • Ensure the checking (reporting any defects), set up and put away of equipment securely and tidily after the session.
  • Supervise the arrival, departure and handover of the lesson promptly and register all attendances.
  • Monitor class sizes and unexpected arrivals and alert the Swim Coordinator/Manager at the earliest opportunity of any problems/queries.
  • Complete regular Progress Reports using the electronic tablets on each individual swimmer ensuring they are detailed, positive and constructive.
  • Ensure effective communication is used at all times and relevant for all swimmers with regular individual feedback.
  • Deal politely with customer comments and complaints, to ensure excellent customer service, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure customers are updated with any promotional materials and information.

Your experience/qualifications:

  • Experience of teaching within a Learn to Swim Programme.
  • Experience of delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Qualified swimming teacher (ASA or STA) to Level 2 NPLQ or Teachers Pool Rescue/Pool Safety Qualified.
  • Current Child Protection CPD or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Parent and Baby qualified (desirable, not essential).
