Want to work for a company with great values? Are you compassionate? Inspiring? Dependable? Collaborative? Then we want to hear from you!
Due to continued growth and expansion, Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a peripatetic teacher to join our fantastic Alternative Learning Pathway team in the Wigan area. Horizon Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) aims to support and engage young people for whom learning in a school environment is not appropriate. We deliver short to medium term, personalised learning programmes nationally - a combination of direct home tutoring, mentoring and online learning for pupils from ages 8-25.
You will be based at our Great Howarth School and will form part of the team at this school. As a peripatetic teacher you will visit children to deliver the 1-1 education in the community. You will be expected to attend meetings and training at the school and at times may be asked to cover lessons/support in school if needed. You will be working in a variety of non-school settings where you will be building and maintaining excellent educational relationships with the students. Your focus will be the individual learning needs of the student who has struggled in a school environment. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be a car owner/driver.
If you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and enabling them to shape their own future, then we want you to be part of our team.
- QTS or QTLS Qualifications
- Have proven teaching and learning experience.
- Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have the energy, passion, and drive to create exciting and engaging lessons for our students.
- Have initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills.
- Ideally have experience and a passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in a 1-1 or small group setting.
Horizon Care and Education is committed to its employees, values the needs of our employees and the people we support. We recognise the need to recruit, retain and develop highly skilled staff, so we are committed to attract and retain talent who align with our values, vision & mission statement. We value diversity, equality, and inclusion, offering equal opportunities to all individuals interested in joining our organisation.
We promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and expect all employees, all visitors of Horizon and partner organisations who support us to share this commitment.
Please note we will not interview for this role without a fully completed application pack.
