If so, Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant with responsibility for covering lessons for our Great Howarth School in Rochdale.
Great Howarth School is a bright and modern independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Rochdale, the school has recently undergone a major refurbishment and now includes a brand-new primary school building. Across both sites, we meet the diverse needs of pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs, including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and Autism.

What you’ll get to do:
- Assisting students in their educational and social development.
- Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
- Help to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
- Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Working 1:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience of working with children who have behavioural support needs with a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Grade C or above GCSE in English and Math, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
