The Thornycroft School is a brand‑new, independent specialist day school located in Oldham, Greater Manchester. It serves up to 70 pupils aged 5‑19 with Special Educational Needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and autism. Aspiring to work for a company with strong values, you will help ensure that everything runs efficiently and effectively at the school.

Job Details

  • Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
  • Contract Type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday‑Thursday – 09:00 to 17:00 (flexible)
  • Closing Date: 10th June

Responsibilities

  • Act as point of contact for the Head Teacher.
  • Process admissions paperwork and keep vital records up to date, such as attendance registers.
  • Take care of purchases and petty cash returns for all staff.
  • Organise room and facilities bookings for the school.
  • Collate reports as requested.
  • Serve as the friendly voice at the end of the phone for incoming/outgoing calls.
  • Complete duties to facilitate school registration.
  • Carry out annual reviews of paperwork and keep contracts up to date.
  • Compile historical data to show progress and maintain administrative integrity.
  • Perform general administrative duties as directed by the Head Teacher.
  • Build relationships with students and act as a trusted person in their school.
  • Assist with additional tasks such as collecting supplies for lessons or arranging transport for school trips.
  • Maintain knowledge of the school’s inner workings and demonstrate passion for the work.
