If so, Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at our new school based in Long Eaton, Meadowbrook School. Meadowbrook School will be a brand-new, independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for up to 80 pupils. Based in Long Eaton, Nottingham, the school will meet the diverse needs of pupils aged 5-19 with Autism. Refurbishment is currently underway, with completion scheduled for late Summer. Through education, we enable young people to gain the skills and resilience needed to succeed in life beyond school, inspiring the brightest futures. What you’ll get to do:
- Assisting students in their educational and social development.
- Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
- Help to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
- Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Working 1:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience of working with children who have behavioural support needs with a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Grade C or above GCSE in English and Math, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
