Meadowbrook SEN School has an opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor to join out existing team with a focus on supervising and supporting classes during the short term absence of teaching staff, ensuring continuity of learning and the maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our children with SEN and SEMH.
Meadowbrook School is a brand-new independent specialist day school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for up to75 pupils with Autism. Designed to create a nurturing, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment, the school focuses on helping every young person develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to achieve their full potential.
As a Cover Supervisor you will be required tosupervise and support classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and/or physical disabilities.
Located inLong Eaton, Nottingham, Meadowbrook School caters for pupils aged5 to 19 years
Main duties of the role include
- Supervise pupils in lessons where the teacher is absent, delivering pre-planned learning activities and adapting them as needed to meet individual needs
- Maintain a structured, predictable environment to support pupils’ emotional regulation
- Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support interventions and agreed behaviour support plans
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times
- Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and senior leaders to feedback on pupil engagement and progress
