Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a SLCN Teacher at Aspire Learning in Croydon! Aspire Learning is an independent primary school providing inspirational, nurture-based specialist SEND education to pupils aged 5 - 11 years old. We are looking for enthusiastic SEN Teachers to join our supportive team.

Due to recent acquisitions, we are searching for SEN Teachers with experience working with children aged 5-11 with ASC and speech, language and communication needs. SEN Teachers will need to have experience working with pre-verbal ASC pupils and supporting the development of communication skills using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, Attention Autism, and TEACCH. Some pupils will require an element of personal care and support.

At Horizon Care and Education, our teachers will be supported by our Director of Curriculum, Headteachers, SENCos, Operational Directors, and the Managing Director of Education Services, as well as our extensive therapeutic team.

  • QTS or QTLS Qualification
  • Proven teaching and learning experience
  • Up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner
  • Energy, passion, and drive to raise standards
  • Initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills
  • Experience of working with students with SEMH and additional needs
  • Knowledge and understanding of developments in education
