Due to continued growth and expansion, Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an Outreach SEN Tutor to join our fantastic Alternative Learning Pathway team in Warwickshire. Horizon Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) aims to support and engage young people for whom learning in a school environment is not appropriate. We deliver short to medium term, personalised learning programmes nationally – a combination of direct home tutoring, mentoring and online learning for pupils from ages 8-25.

As a peripatetic practitioner you will visit children to deliver 1‑1 education in the community. You will be expected to attend meetings and training where required. You will be working in a variety of non‑school settings and building and maintaining excellent educational relationships with the students. Your focus will be the individual learning needs of the student who has struggled in a school environment. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be a car owner/driver.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.
  • Have 1 year experience working with SEN/SEMH children in a 1‑1 setting, based in the community or home.
  • Be a car driver with own vehicle.
