About the School

Meadowbrook School is a brand‑new independent specialist day school based in Long Eaton, Nottingham, preparing up to 80 pupils aged 5‑19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism. Refurbishment is currently underway, with completion scheduled for late summer. It offers a holistic, bespoke curriculum with rich learning opportunities that enable young people to develop functional life skills to experience a high quality of life.

Role Overview

We are looking for an inspirational SENCO to join our brand‑new school.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a SENCO Qualification or be close to completing.
  • Must have a QTS status.
  • Make a valuable contribution to the offering that young people receive at the school as part of the provision of high‑quality teaching and learning.
  • Have some experience of working effectively with local authorities.
  • Have a passion for ensuring all young people succeed.
  • Be able to work effectively within a supportive, committed, and successful staff team.
  • Have high aspirations for themselves and others, and a commitment to further development.
  • Have a robust understanding of SEND Code of practice.
  • Have an understanding of SEMH education and how to support the additional needs associated with SEMH pupils.
