Bright Futures, Inspired by You. Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at West Wickham School in Bromley. The school will serve up to 70 pupils aged 5‑19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in their educational and social development.
  • Provide support inside and outside of the classroom so pupils can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
  • Help set up activities, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit individual needs.
  • Support teachers by engaging with students, providing learning support, and responding to classroom situations in a positive, non‑disruptive manner.
  • Work 1:1 with students who require additional time and support to learn.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children who have behavioural support needs and a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Grade C or above GCSE in English and Mathematics, or Level 1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
